Almost perfect, but definitely a keeper
We have a Jeep Cherokee & two dogs that we take with us everywhere. We go to the dog park at least once a day with them. The Pros: Easy to Install Sturdy & quality material Keeps the dogs and yourself safer in case of an accident or having to slam on the breaks. The dogs won't fly & knock you in the head. Keeps pet hair off the backs of the front seats (our dogs like to run around and rub against the back which embeds dog hair in the car seat fabric) Keeps pet hair much much more contained to the back The Cons: The air vent on the middle console is now blocked by the solid fabric across the bottom. This is a problem for someone in a warmer climate who is transporting their dog after a fun run in the park. Our dogs are always tired and panting after the park and I like to blast the AC for them. one of their favorite places used to be sitting with their faces against the air blowing out the middle console. I'm going to see if I can either use a flexible hose of some sort and somehow tie it to the airvent and bend it down and under the screen. If that fails I may just cut some slits in the fabric. It's more important that the dogs get cooled down that to have a nice looking screen. If the middle section had some mesh material here it would solve this problem not just for me but I'm sure for nearly everyone who has an SUV or Van and the middle console has airvents. One other con... the bottom clips aren't long enough to clip. The top two clips went around the head rests just fine but the bottom two are too short. I have the bottom two somewhat secured around a bar I found when I stuck my head to the floor and looked up under the seats (Make sure you don't attach these clips to any of the moving pieces of the seats), when I found a secure place to attach them, the clip ends were too far away from each other to clip together. The material is taught enough that I just wrapped the clip under and over again. It's not 100% but it works. I gave it 5 reviews despite the cons because I've come to realize there's no such thing as perfect when it comes to dog restraining/car devices. I've tried using a harness which has a seat belt that attaches to the harness and then locks into the seatbelt but my dog hates the harness, I don't like putting it on him in the hot weather (it's padded for his protection but also adds warmth) and even on the tightest setting, the leash was still too long and my dog still ran around on the seats and got hair everywhere & bumped us with his nose. All the pros were really important for me and they hit the mark on those. I just need to figure out the airvent situation and I'll be as happy as my dogs after a day at the park.

Excellent barrier to restrict dogs from front seat area
We bought a new 2025 Grand Highlander and needed to restrict our lab from thinking she could occupy any spot in the vehicle like she could in our 2013 Highlander. This barrier is well constructed and easy to install. It blocks our older lab from coming in the front seat as it blocks every possible route for her to figure out. The velcro tabs are strong and hold everything in place and there are metal bars that provide stability. The way that this is made lets the passenger adjust their seat without the driver having to adjust theirs. We purchased one for our 2019 Ranger after seeing how well it worked in the Grand Highlander. This barrier can even stay in place if we have humans riding in the 2nd (back) row, LOL. Seriously though, this barrier is well made and does not interfere with using the rear view mirror. A plus is that we have far less dog hair in the front of our new Highlander.

Great barrier that is very easy to assemble & install, allows good airflow, no rattling
I got the large 56" size Bushwhacker barrier, and it fits my 2008 Toyota Tundra like a glove. It is very easy to assemble and installation was really simple. I have two German shepherds and a border collie who are all active, but not destructive. I have been using the barrier for a couple of weeks now and it has stayed in place perfectly when they bump it, however they do not assault it trying to get in the front of the cab. I think if you tighten down the strapping really well, it could take some punishment, but if a dog were really the determined type, I think they could get through. The material is a very nice mesh weave, and is great for allowing air flow throughout the truck, but at the same time keeps the white German shepherd's hair (who is a shedding machine) out of the front seat. I am not sure how well the mesh weave would hold up long term if you have a confirmed chewer or a dog who would scratch it excessively to get through. With those caveats in mind, I highly recommend it, and for my dogs, would definitely buy again. Am probably going to change out the barrier I have in my small car (where I currently have the kind that has the horizontal bars with two vertical bars that go floor to ceiling), and get this in the smaller size. It works really well for my dogs. Oh, added bonus, it doesn't rattle at all.

It is not a perfect fit, bit it works like a charm
I purchased this to use behind the bench seating (2nd row) of my 2012 GMC Terrain in order to keep my 20 lb-ish dog in the cargo area. It is not a perfect fit, bit it works like a charm! Other reviewers reported using the barrier for the cargo area, rather than behind the front seats so I thought I would give it a try. When the barrier arrived, the package was damaged, and one of the 3 joints was missing. I reported that, and very quickly had a reply from the company that they would get the part in the mail to me ASAP. It came USPS just a few days later. The barrier was very easy to put together. It is relatively easy to install, too, and as it is no trouble to see through the mesh from the rearview mirror, I have decided to just leave it in place, even though my dog doesn't travel with me very often (with that said, now that we have our transportation issues eliminated, maybe he will like car trips better, and will go with me more often)! My dog has ridden just a couple of times since I began using the barrier, but he didn't make any effort to try to climb over it or pull it down. The top rounded corners of the barrier touch the headliner, but do not appear to put any pressure on it, so I am not worried about any damage to the interior of the car (the headliner or the back of the bench seat). Overall, I am really pleased with this product so far, and hopeful that my dog, Barney, will come to, at the very least, settle down for a car ride. Up until now, it was kind of a dangerous event just to go to the vet 3 miles away!

Best one yet, esp. for large dogs.
This is the best front seat barrier I've used yet. It is very strong, easy to assemble, and easy to attach to the front head-rests and seat corners of my 2019 Honda Odyssey minivan. It's an almost perfect fit. It does not mar the ceiling or the van, or any other areas when installed, unlike previous barriers I've used. Once strapped-down, it is very stable and secure. We can still slide the individual seats back and forth enough for our needs with the barrier secured in place. It is also very easy to see through the mesh when you are driving, even at night. It keeps my large dogs secured in the rear area, they make no attempts to challenge it. There is a small gap at the base where the center console area is, but that can be stuffed with a jacket as needed, and I like that this barrier doesn't block the controls in the rear of that center console, esp. since some vehicles may have AC vents there.

Good design, good quality
Functional and sturdy, easy to install, really keeps my two big dogs in the back of the trunk even for long hours trips. We purchased two sizes and returned the big one, as the smaller one fit perfectly our Kia Telluride. Very happy with the purchase.

Finally. A decent barrier that actually works
I have owned several different vehicle barriers for dogs. Based on my initial impressions, I think this will be the last one I have to buy! I have a 70lb border/golden mix who thinks he's a 10lb lapdog, and a 30lb Australian shepherd mix that might as well be a cat b/c of her ability to get in and out of things. Back to barriers: had the metal one w/ horizontal rods (horribly annoying, as it rattles whenever the vehicle is moving, and my dog could poke his head through and pant and drool all over the back seat of my Jeep). $80 wasted on that. I've had a few of the mesh ones with bungee cord type ropes to secure it. Those sag, and no matter how tight you pull it and secure it under the seats and up above the headrests, the dog can still get over it and underneath it, in between the seats. Totally ineffective. Even though they are cheap it's still a waste of money. Don't even bother. I also have the hammock-type ones that go across the back seat and attached to the front seat headrests and the back seat headrests. Those are great at protecting the seat but they do not keep the dog from jumping all over inside the vehicle & going to the front seat. So,the Paws &Claws deluxe barrier: I had ordered this particular barrier last week, right before this past weekend, when my smaller dog decided to eat a full box of donuts from the front seat and also chew the plastic top off of my shaker bottle, to eat my morning breakfast shake. Needless to say, after all this in 1 day, when this barrier arrived Monday, I could not wait to try it out!!! I installed it in my 3/4 ton pickup truck, and unfortunately one of the pieces of velcro partially ripped right away as I was stretching ilthe barrier: b/c you have to pull it really really tight to get the rods in the couplers and have it be sturdy but I think I can fix that velcro. There's a lot of velcro that holds the rods in place and it seems very sturdy so I installed it anyway. It installs easily and securely to the headrest and bottom of the seats. The straps addre adjustable, with metal he says that have teeth in them so it will hold the straps securely whereas other barriers I've had the straps constantly slip and then the barrier sags. My dogs could not get over it, under it even though one of them tried to figure out how to get underneath it. Mesh seems very sturdy! Not just cloth: it seems to be treated with some plastic so it's pretty sturdy. Much better than other barriers I've ordered. I got the 56 in wide barrier and it works well in my full-size pickup truck w/ bucket seats. Yay!!!!!! Now I don't have to worry about my dogs getting in the front seats w/ muddy paws or eating food or drinks that I've left in the front seat. Seems like it will also contain most of their shedding hair to the back seat, and I have the seats covered so it will be much easier to keep my truck clean in the front. I think I'll see how this one continues to work and then probably order the smaller one for my car.

Happy wife, happy dog
Chevy Crew Cab. Great fit and very sturdy. Worth the extra couple bucks. My 6 month old 65lb Swissy loves to fight my wife over shotgun on trips. She will jump back and forth the whole ride. We tried the seatbelt leash but she just tangles herself in it. I was at the end of my rope and decided to pull the trigger on one of these. Wish I would have bought it sooner. Perfect barrier and feel better about her safety. Easy install and folds down if you need to store it.

Perfect!
The dog barrier is perfect for our needs. It fits both mine and my husbands cars, is easily moved from one to the other and we are very happy that our two precious Cavoodle dogs are safe whilst travelling. Extremely fast shipping from USA to Australia as always.

Money very well spent!!
Unlike most of the reviews here, I had a unique situation and it had nothing to do with pets but my 9 years old autistic son. I ordered this to keep my son, my wife and myself safe from potential harm my 9 years old son could have caused during the journey. He used to slip out of the seat belt and as well as the vest and would try to jump into the front seat while the vehicle is on the move. Trying to stop him would trigger a melt down followed by random items from booster seat to shoes flying at us, very very dangerous indeed. The Bushwacker has saved us from all of this, and we now take road trips without worrying about all the afore mentioned issues. My son is also slowly getting to understand that front seats are not an option for him and he must stay in his seat. The item arrived earlier than expected and its was a perfect fit for my 2020 Ford Edge, I ordered size 56" and I believe 50" version will do just fine as well. Its well made, very easy to assemble and install. The aluminum frame is sturdy and the mesh is strong, the mesh is also removable in case you need to wash it. I am very happy that I had selected this over other options. You pay a bit more but it wont disappoint you.

Works Perfectly!
Bought this for my 2022 Ford Explorer ST. I have 3 WHITE labs that shed a lot and like to rest their heads on the back seats. This is very effective in not only keeping the dogs off the back seats but also prevents their hair from circulating throughout the vehicle. It is easy to see through, so there is no obstruction when checking the rearview mirror. It was VERY easy to install, I found it easier to put it in from a side door with the seats down to set it where I wanted with a friction fit, then popped the seats back up to finish installation. I paired it with an oversized fabric cargo liner to make a better seal against the dirt and pet hair. I bought the Paw Jamboree Dog Cargo Liner for SUVS 55”x91” Dog Vehicle Cargo Cover with Side Wall Protectors. Attached the cover to the back of the seats first, folded the seats down, placed this bushwhacker barrier in, then popped the seats back up and secured everything. I highly recommend it!
